Piles of Leaves

Wrong time of year for that title, but I have beaded nothing but leaves for the last few weeks and really do have piles of the things.

I've made a necklace and several pairs of earrings; th
e earrings I love & shall probably make lots more. I can see them working in my Etsy shop. The necklace I am quite please with but it took HOURS! At least 16 and I'm not sure that it is worth it. I am tempted to glam it up with some more crystals but that would only add to its cost, already in the region of $300 if I put it on Etsy. Not sure I'm ready for that yet....

Any hoo, I'm testing pieces out on a shop owner I know this weekend; if her response is positive I may get brave and go for it...

Trefoiled Again!

In recent weeks I have been obsessing over Russian leaves and their variations. I've now mastered the technique taught to me by the Bead Sage and have very nearly got to grips with the variation in the photo. But I don't know what to do with them! I'm dreaming, walking and talking leaves, but a finishable, wearable item of jewellery still eludes me. Hence stitching the 3 together. Each leaf has a fault but I'm going to hang onto this as a reminder/inspiration until I crack it.

It's not always about beads...

Let the pictures tell the story...

It really works! All you need to add is a plate, a spoon and some squirty cream. We tried it at work (I know, I know) and cried with laughter as the mixture rose inexorably above the rim of the mug. All in the interests of science you understand.

Posting for postings' sake

I think I've lost my muse.... I'm still beading (of course!), but it's becoming a very introspective exercise. All of which is a very fancy-pants way of saying I haven't been inspired to post on my blog for some time and I'm feeling guilty about that. Blame Facebook. Everybody else does. Any hoo, just to show that I am still making stuff, here's a Fireworks Ring in the most luscious blue.

It may find its way to an Edinburgh retailer along with some of my other pieces if I can only get myself in gear...
